On October 19 race fans at the Hockenheimring in Hockenheim, Germany, were treated to a vision of the future. At speeds up to 150 mph, an Audi RS 7 skillfully navigated the renowned racetrack without any human at the controls. Termed "piloted driving" by Audi, the demonstration vividly illustrates how advanced autonomous driving vehicle technology has become.

“The top performance by the Audi RS 7 today substantiates the skills of our development team with regard to piloted driving at Audi,” said Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG, is a statement following the exhibition. “The derivations from series production, particularly in terms of precision and performance, are of great value for our further development steps.”
